Log on to the Myxer homepage (see Resources).

Create a Myxer account. To do this, click the “Sign Up” link on the homepage. Click the “Create Account” tab under the “Personal Account” heading on the next Web page. From there, enter your email address and phone number. You will also need to create a password. When you've completed the process, you will receive a confirmation email. Open that email and click the confirmation link to register your account.

Sign in to your Myxer account back on the Myxer homepage to begin making MP3 iPhone ringtones.

Click the “Make Your Own” link located in the Myxer toolbar at the top of the Web page. You will be directed to a new page.

Click the “Browse” tab in the middle of the page. Search through the folders on your computer until you find the MP3 file that you want to turn into an iPhone ringtone. Choose that song, and then click the “Customize” tab on the Web page.

Edit the iPhone ringtone on the next page. Change the location of the shaded area in the audio box on the screen to edit when the ringtone begins and ends. Click the drop box next to the “Volume” heading to edit the volume of the ringtone on your iPhone.

Click the “Download for iPhone” link at the bottom of the page when you've finished editing the ringtone. On the next page, click the “Download Ringtone” link. Once you do, you will be able to save the ringtone on your computer.

Open iTunes and plug your iPhone into your computer. Click “File” and then “Add File to Library.” Add the iPhone ringtone to your iTunes library. Once you've done this, you will be able to drag the file to the iPhone logo on the left side of the iTunes program, which should load the ringtone on your phone.
