Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate the love you share with your wife or girlfriend. A homemade card is a great way to tell her how you feel. Before writing the card, take some time to reflect upon your relationship and remember that you're writing her a card because you're in love with her, not just because it's a holiday. Don't let your card lose that personal touch. Create a handwritten card and write formally, as this will let her know you put thought and effort into it.
Things you need
Blank card or piece of paper
Purchase a blank card from the store or create one by simply folding a piece of paper in half horizontally. If you use a piece of paper, decorate the front by writing "Happy Valentine's Day" and drawing a picture of a heart or her favourite flower. Even if you're not artistic, she'll appreciate the personal touch. Write your message on the inside of the card.
Tell her how you feel about having her in your life. List specific things you like about her to avoid being cliché. Include things such as the way she giggles when you kiss her or how she dances in her pyjamas. Avoid talking about negative aspects of the relationship -- there's no need to say, "I know we fight a lot, but..."
Talk about special experiences you've shared. She will appreciate knowing you treasure these moments, along with being able to relive them herself. This can include reminiscing about your first date, your first kiss or your marriage proposal.
Mention your future and how you're excited to spend it with her. Include details of things you've talked about previously. For example, if you've talked about having kids, you might say, "I know you're going to be a fantastic mother to our children."
End the card with a sentence about the upcoming years. You can say something like, "I look forward to celebrating many more Valentine's Days with you" or, "Because you're in my life, I know our future is going to be nothing short of amazing."
