Grand Theft Auto IV is the 2008 entry in the blockbuster video game series by Rockstar. The game showcases the exploits of Niko Bellic, an European immigrant trying to establish his reputation on the crime-ridden streets of Liberty City. While the game focuses heavily on carrying out criminal acts, the player is able to "play" as a cop by undertaking police missions.

  1. 1

    Complete the "Crime and Punishment" mission in the main game. The mission requires you to steal a police car and then stop and steal a crimelord's van. On completing the mission, you will unlock the Most Wanted side missions and the Vigilante missions.

    Steal a police car. Press L1 while the police car is totally stopped to access the car's on-board police computer.

    Log into the police car's computer. Select "Most Wanted" from the menu and you will be presented with a list of the top ten most wanted perps in your immediate area. Hunt the criminals down in the police car to increase your completion percentage of the game.

    Log into the police car's computer. Select "View Current Crimes" from the menu and a map will be shown, giving you the location of the crimes currently happening in the immediate area. Select the crime you wish to tackle and then follow the police car's GPS route to find and stop the crime. Stop 20 criminals to increase your completion percentage of the game.
