  1. 1

Purchase new living room furniture or have your existing ones reupholstered in bright colours such as a deep blue sofa, bright orange chair and a dark red ottoman. Use a heavily textured fabric but keep the colours solid.

  2. 2

Put down a Moroccan-style throw rug. These look best over dark wood floors but the decorating will work on a tan, beige or gold as well. It is even fine if you already have carpet in the room; the throw rug will still look great.

  3. 3

Place a mosaic accent table between the couch and chair. It is best if it has an iron base but any metal will work. Place a metal and inlaid lamp on the table. The metals do not have to be the same. Part of the style is diversity.

  4. 4

Accent your walls with Moroccan plates and place a hand-carved camel on a shelf. The plates should be bright and colourful. Then place some Moroccan pottery around. It does not have to look new; it can even have a chip or two.
