How to Make a Balloon Bouquet

Updated March 23, 2017

Balloons are a common decorative item used for parties and celebrations. A balloon bouquet consists of several balloons grouped together and tied with a ribbon. Tie a balloon bouquet to your front door or mailbox to indicate a party's location, or use balloon bouquets as party decorations, a table centrepiece or a gift for a special occasion such as a graduation or birthday celebration. When creating a balloon bouquet, use balloons that are all the same, or in colours that coordinate with the event.

Create a template in which to measure the balloons to be sure the balloons are all the same size or of similars sizes by cutting a hole in the middle of a box the size you want the balloons to be.

Choose the balloons you want to make into a bouquet. Use balloons that coordinate with the decor of the event.

Use the helium tank to blow up six to 10 balloons, tying each balloon at its mouthpiece. Before you tie each balloon, measure its size using the template created in step 1 to make sure that each balloon will be the same size.

Tie a piece of ribbon at the end of each balloon and cut each piece of ribbon to the same length. Coordinate the colour of the ribbon to match the balloon, or use complementary colours for the balloons and ribbons.

Continue blowing up the balloons and gather them all in a bunch. Tie the balloon ribbons together in a knot and attach a weight to the ribbon knot.

Attach the balloon bouquet to a stuffed animal toy or other decorative item.
