Show team spirit by displaying a high school, college or NFL logo in your home, car or at the campus game. You can make your own logo replica in any size in plastic canvas. Attach the high school logo to a paint stick and wave it at the next game. Stitch the college logo to pillows for the dorm room for your favourite fan. Decorate your home with a collection of plastic canvas logos and footballs for the annual Super Bowl party.

  1. 1

Draw or trace a simple line drawing of your favourite football team logo. A line drawing is like a colouring page illustration. Cut out the drawing for a pattern.

  2. 2

Trace the shape of the logo pattern on to the plastic canvas with a dark marker. Cut the shape out of the canvas with sharp scissors. Remove any excess plastic from the cutting area.

  3. 3

Use a coloured logo as your stitching guide. Draw the lines and shapes of the logo on to the bare canvas with the marker. Start with the largest coloured area first. Thread your needle with the yarn for that section.

  4. 4

Use the continental stitch to fill in the area.

  5. 5

Change colour and fill in the smaller areas of the logo with the continental stitch.

  6. 6

Stitch a 5-inch loop of wire to the yarn in back if you are going to hang the plastic canvas piece on a wall or door. You can also stitch the decorative logo to a tote bag, stadium cushion or blanket.

Tips and warnings

  • Do not sell any football craft item which copies a registered team logo, especially NFL. This will result in a lawsuit.
