Step 1
Turn the rabbit over onto its back. Hold the rabbit gently but firmly while doing this.
-
Step 2
Gently spread the fur from around the rabbits rear. You are trying to get a clear view of the two openings there. The one furthest from the rabbit's head is the anus.
-
Step 3
Find the genital opening. This is the hole that is nearest the belly.
-
Step 4
Look to see if your rabbit has two descended testicles. If so, it is a male. But sometimes the rabbit is not mature enough, or has been neutered.
-
Step 5
Gently push down the fur around the genital area. Often, if the rabbit is male, the **** will emerge. If it does not, there will be a small tube visible if the rabbit is a male.
-
Step 6
Examine the genital area closely again to see if the area has a slit. The female rabbit's vulva is slightly pyramid shaped and should not be confused with a ****, which is shaped like a tube.
