If you are trying to grow a garden or fruit trees, then it is very important that you have bees to pollinate your blossoms. Without the pollination, there will be not fruit. If your yard is big enough and far enough away from neighbours' yards, consider establishing your own bee colony. You will need to provide a home for the bees, and with a little carpentry knowledge, you can easily build your own.

Things you need
- Beehive plans
- White paint
Purchase a set of plans for the beehive. There are Internet websites that list plans for a few dollars. Just make sure that the plans are designed by someone who understands bees.
Study the plans and familiarise yourself with the procedures.
Purchase the necessary supplies from your local hardware and lumber store.
Cut the wood according to the directions and staple together using small staples in a staple gun. There are many stages here in this process and some of the cuts will need to be measured precisely. Basically you will be making an outside box that will hold 10 trays together on a frame that can be removed later to access the honey. Staple the parts together and then assemble the whole package, tacking it together with staples.
Paint the beehive with white paint.
Place the beehive outside away from any pets or foot traffic but near your fruit trees or garden. It is now ready for use.
