How to Lose Face Fat

Updated April 17, 2017

The face is one of the many areas to where fat accumulates during weight gain. Chubby cheeks and double chins are usually the common complains of people suffering from facial fat. Removing fat off the face is quite a tricky process. It needs a little bit of hard work for those who do it using the natural method; and a huge budget for those who opt to go with the invasive method (surgery). Losing facial fat takes time, but certain procedures do help in trimming and firming up the face.

Exercise to burn overall body fat. Regular exercise leads to a leaner body and of course a leaner face. So burn those calories off and do some aerobic exercises such as jogging or brisk walking. Exhibit an active lifestyle for a slimmer face and body. For optimum results consult a personal trainer before beginning an exercise program.

Eat right by adding more fibre in your diet. Fill yourself up with some fresh vegetables and fruits to keep you lean and healthy. Consult with your health care provider before beginning a weight loss program.

Constantly hydrate your system with eight glasses of water everyday. Puffy cheeks are sometimes caused by bloating, which is a body's reaction to water deprivation. So drink your way up to a leaner face.

Reduce your intake of alcohol. Alcohol can cause puffiness through water retention and adds extra calories. An occasional glass of wine or beer is generally fine, all in moderation.

Watch your salt intake. Salt is an active ingredient that causes bloating or water retention. Avoid salty foods and eat healthy ones instead. If you need to add salt on your recipe, do it with a salt shaker or sprinkle it with your hand instead of a spoon. This way you can control the amount of salt on your food.

Do your make up with an aim of making your cheeks and chin look slimmer; and a hairstyle that will help in making your face look leaner instead of being round.

Schedule a facial massage at your favourite spa; this will be like a facial workout with the spa as your gym. Massage helps to increase the circulation of the tissues in your face, making it look leaner and evenly toned. You can also buy your favourite facial products and perform your own facial massage. Be sure to always direct your massage upward when doing any type of strokes.

Go invasive if you chose too. Consult an expert surgeon for a buccal fat extraction or facial liposuction. These procedures involve removal of excess facial fat on the cheeks and chin that will give you a slimmer facial structure. Doing so without losing overall body weight may not lead to the results you are after.

Facial liposuction or buccal fat extraction are instant ways to get rid of facial fat;but make sure that your face will be handled by highly experienced professionals for outstanding results. The only real and permanent solution to losing fat on the face will be to lose overall body fat.
