Paper baby shoes are not wearable, but you can give them as gifts for a bridal shower or fill them with candy and give them out as party favours for a baby's birthday. After their initial use, you can reuse the decorative shoes as Christmas tree ornaments. Paper baby shoes assemble in just a few minutes and can be decorated with whatever colours and embellishments you like. You can find everything you need at a craft store.
Print out a boy's or girl's shoe template onto a sheet of coloured cardstock. (Both shoe templates are linked in the resources.)
Cut out the template along the solid lines.
Decorate the blank side of the cardstock however you wish with glitter, markers, stickers and paint. It will be easier to decorate the cardstock while it is flat. Do not colour on the shoe's tabs.
Punch holes in the marked areas of the boy's shoe with a hole punch. The boy's shoe is a lace-up shoe with six holes, while the girl's shoe is a Mary Jane style shoe with no holes.
Place a dot of glue on the shoe where it says "glue" and fold it under the back seam of the shoe so the non-printed side of the cardstock faces out.
Fold the marked tabs in toward the side of the cardstock with printing on it. Add a dab of glue to each tab and press the tabs onto the soles of the shoe.
Apply a dot of glue to the girl's shoe strap and stick it to the side of the shoe.
Lace ribbon through the holes in the boy's shoe as you would regularly tie a pair of shoelaces. Glue the boy shoe's tongue behind the laces.
Attach a charm to the laces on the boy's shoe or the strap on the girl's shoe.
