  1. 1

Determine if the stain is fresh or an older stain.

  2. 2

If the stain is fairly recent, it is easier to remove. Pour some kitty litter onto the puddle of oil. It will soak up any oil that has not soaked into the concrete and will remove some of the oil that has only soaked in slightly.

  3. 3

For older spills that have had more time to soak in, it can be a bit trickier. After you remove the kitty litter, check to see if there's still a stain. If there is, go out and buy your choice of driveway cleaning product from the store. Apply the product and use a push broom to work it into the concrete. Then rinse it off. This may not completely remove the stain, but it will certainly improve it.
