How to Do 80s Makeup and Hair

The 1980s was a time when big hair and extreme makeup were the only way to go. The 80s look is great for special occasions or for every day. By using a little creativity and the following steps, almost anyone can achieve a 1980s makeup and hair look.

Collect all the necessary supplies to create this look and make sure the face is clean and dry before putting any makeup on.

Use a makeup sponge to apply liquid foundation to conceal any imperfections. Now apply loose powder to the face using a large makeup brush.

Apply eyeliner to the bottom lid, top lid and to the skin located just below the eye. Next, wipe the eye with the fingers. Apply more if desired.

Curl the eyelashes using an eyelash curler. Apply two or three coats of mascara on both the top and bottom lashes. Put a brightly colored eye shadow, in shades like canary yellow, bright purple or aqua green, on the eyelid all the way up to the brow line.

Rub on a brightly colored frosty lip gloss. A clear lip gloss mixed with glitter will work just as well.

Style the hair by teasing or curling. Add accessories to the hair such as brightly colored pieces of fabric or mesh.

Look at pictures of celebrities from the 80s to get an idea of the style of the time. This look works best if one dresses circa 1980s.
