Get a Smooth Underarm Shave

It's tough to get a smooth underarm shave if your hair grows fast or when you grow thick, spiky hair. But you can get a smooth underarm shave in just a few minutes. All you need is a moderately priced razor blade or a sharp electric shaver.

Instructions

Get a Smooth Underarm Shave With a Razor Blade

  1. 1

Start with clean arm pits. Wash them when you shower or bathe. The moisture will give the hair an opportunity to soften and give less resistance to your shaver.

  2. 2

Lather those pits. Use a mild soap or shaving cream. This step further conditions the hair and the arm pits to provide a smooth glide.

  3. 3

Use the razor blade to stroke from the top of the underarm to the bottom if it, until you start to feel the hair resisting the razor blade. Rinse the razor blade. Overlap the next stroke where your previous stroke ended. Continue to follow through with smooth strokes until you feel the resistance against the razor blade and rinse. Repeat each stroke until you shave the entire arm pit.

  4. 4

Rinse the armpit and lather it up again. This time, shave the underarm from bottom to top, overlapping your strokes. Rinse again upon completion.

  5. 5

Look at your arm pit and note where there are short or wild hairs. If you aren't able to see them, feel them and check for smoothness.

Get a Smooth Underarm Shave with a Battery Operated Electric Razor

  1. 1

Dry your underarms after washing them. Battery operated razors work better on clean, dry hair and skin.

  2. 2

Start shaving with the battery operated razor at the top of the underarm where the hair starts. Overlap the next stroke where your previous stroke ended. Continue to follow through with smooth strokes until you feel the resistance against the razor.

  3. 3

Follow through with smooth strokes until the razor resists the hairs or gets full. Most electric razors come with a brush to clean the head or teeth of the electric razor. Clean it periodically as you continue to shave in a downward direction.

  4. 4

Shave the underarm from bottom to top, overlapping your strokes. Continue to completion.

  5. 5

Look at your arm pit and note where there are short or wild hairs. If you aren't able to see them, feel them and check for smoothness.

Tips and warnings

  • Do not use an electric plug-in razor in the shower. You will get electrocuted which can cause death.
