Sometimes it's hard to hide those unsightly spare toilet paper rolls when you don't have much room in a bathroom. You can make these cute toilet roll covers to solve that problem. They are quick and easy and can be decorated and embellished to suit any décor. They can also be made for gifts and fundraising events.
- Skill level:
- Moderately Easy
Things you need
- Sewing machine
- 1/2 yard cotton fabric 40 to 45 inches wide
- 1 yard pre-gathered eyelet or lace edging
Measure a full roll of toilet paper to find the circumference, which is usually at least 3 ½ inches.
Trim a piece of fabric to match the length needed to wrap around the toilet roll.
Cut two pieces of eyelet or lace the same length needed to match the length of the fabric.
Sew the edging onto each of the long edges of the fabric stretching the pre-gathered eyelet as you sew to create a gathered appearance on the edges of the fabric.
Fold the fabric right-sides together and sew the short edges together to create a finished short and wide tube.
Place a spare roll of toilet paper into the cover and proudly display it in your bathroom.
Tips and warnings
- A toilet roll cover and a new package of toilet paper makes a fun housewarming gift. If you're unsure of the décor of a bathroom, use a neutral color and pattern for the fabric and edging.
- Always have an extra roll of toilet paper available and easy to find for guests.
