1
Plan ahead. How long do you plan to be out camping? When do you want to camp?
-
2
Once you have determined when you will go camping at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, consider what type of campground you will need--drive-in or backcountry. Research your options depending on which area you want to camp in.
-
3
Want to stay in a cabin? You'll need to make advanced reservations by calling (808) 967-7321 or emailing volcanohouse@hawaiiantel.net

4
Pack for your trip. Only bring as much gear, food, water and clothing as you will need to have available.
-
5
If you are planning for drive-up camping, head to the park. Select an available camp site. The same holds if you are camping in the backcountry. Hike to an available site.
