It is possible to alter the way your Wii loads your games, rather than simply relying on DVD launch. This can significantly speed up the process. The idea is simply to launch games from an external storage device via a USB loader. One method of doing this is via the WiiFlow Forwarder Channel. This is an easy to use, modern looking interface, which reduces the amount of loading time. In order to install the Forwarder Channel, you will have to install a “forwarder” in order to launch Wiiflow.

Things you need
- External storage device
- Soft-modded Wii
Connect your card reader to your computer or an external hard drive. If you are using an SD card, insert it into the card reader. You will need to ensure that you also have a soft-modded Wii. This is a modification which allows software to slightly modify hardware and allows the use of third-party games.
Download WiiFlow and WiiForwarder. Once the Autoplay menu launches, right-click and select “Explore” to view the contents of your files. Find WiiFlow, and right-click to open in a new window. Right-click on the “Apps” folder. Inside, you should find two Wiiflow folders.
Choose either Wiiflow 222 or Wiiflow 249. This will depend on how your Wii has been modified. Choose Wiiflow 222 if your Wii has been modified to CIOS 222, or 249, if modified to CIOS 249. Drag the correct file into the explorer window.
Disconnect your card reader or external hard drive from your computer. Connect the external hard drive to the USB port on your Wii, or simply insert your SD card into the front of your Wii. Switch on the Wii. On your home screen, select WiiForwarder. Once this has loaded, select WiiFlow and you are ready to go!
