Cami secrets have become very popular because they enable women to wear low cut or wrap over tops without feeling too exposed. The advantage they have over a whole camisole is that they do not ride up or hang below the blouse or top. They can be made in any colour or material, are often edged with lace and are easy to attach and remove. They are available to buy but are also very easy to make by anyone with rudimentary sewing skills.

Put on a bra you would use with a cami secret. Use this to measure the size the cami secret needs to be. Consider how much cleavage you would like to show and make sure the cami secret is large enough not to fall out of the top, but not so large that it will ruffle up.
Measure across between the bra straps at the height you would want the top of the cami secret. Measure the length to make sure the secret is long enough. Use the measurements to draw a wedge shape, but cut off at the bottom, onto paper (if making a pattern) or directly onto selected material.
Cut out two of the shapes and cut them slightly larger than the measurements, approx 1.5 centimetres to allow for a seam. Sew the two shapes, right sides together, leaving a gap of 5 to 10 centimetres, depending on the thickness of the material. Turn material the right way and sew the gap closed.
Sew lace or ribbon along the top edge to create a decorative effect. Attach a small section of ribbon to the top corners of the cami secret. Choose a fastener, press stud, snap fastener or hook and eye and sew onto the ribbon so it can be wrapped around bra strap and fastened.
