How to use swatches in SAI Paint
PaintTool SAI swatches are the virtual equivalent of a painter's palette. ( Images)

When you first launch the PaintTool SAI image editor, the custom swatches in the colour panel are all empty. Adding colours to these swatches can be a good way of saving the shades you find yourself using again and again, or storing the main colours in the palette of the image you are working on. Colours you add to swatches will remain there until you deliberately remove them, even if you close the program and then reopen it.

  1. 1

Hold "Shift" and click a swatch to add the current foreground colour to that swatch. If you prefer, you can also right click an empty swatch and select "Set" to do the same thing. This works whether the swatch is filled or empty.

  2. 2

Hold "Ctrl," click and drag to rearrange filled swatches. Alternatively, you can right-click and drag to perform the same task. Right-click a filled swatch and select "Remove" to empty it.

  3. 3

Click a filled swatch to change the foreground colour to match that swatch.
