Facebook asks new users to verify their accounts with a mobile phone code. If you didn't receive the code or forgot to enter it, Facebook will keep asking you to solve a security Captcha code when you send friend requests or try to post content on the social network. Account verification is designed as a security measure to prevent people from signing up for fake accounts to spam other users. To turn off the Captcha code security test on Facebook, complete the account verification procedure with your mobile phone.

Instructions

Verify your account from the Captcha code screen

  1. 1

Log in to your Facebook account. Continue to use the site in the normal way until Facebook displays the Captcha code screen, which usually appears when you send a friend request to another user.

  2. 2

Click the "Verify" link under the Captcha code to open the Facebook mobile confirmation screen.

  3. 3

Select the UK's international dialling code from the "Country Code" pull-down list. The correct list entry to select for the UK is "United Kingdom (+44)."

  4. 4

Type your mobile phone number without spaces or the leading zero in the applicable field. For example, if your mobile phone number is 07779 123456, type "7779123456" (without quotes) in the "Phone Number" field.

  5. 5

Click the "Confirm" button. Wait a few seconds for Facebook to send a text message with the account verification confirmation code.

  6. 6

Type the verification code in the field on the screen, and then click the "Submit" button to verify your account and complete the procedure. Facebook will now stop displaying the Captcha code when you try to send friend requests and use other site features.
