How to remove the stereo in a Vauxhall Zafira

Modern car stereos enable motorists and their passengers to play CDs and listen to radio stations at the touch of button. The stereo in a Vauxhall Zafira can be removed and replaced quickly with the right set of small tools. Whether you own or drive a Zafira that was built before 2004 or after 2005, the process to remove the stereo is exactly the same.

Determine which size Allen key you require, then use it to remove a screw from each corner of the stereo's facial panel. Place the four screws in a safe place so they don't get lost.

Insert the four din style release key into each of the four holes and pull them outwards, while at the same time pulling the stereo towards you so it pops out of the slot on the Zafira's control panel.

Disconnect the wiring at the back of the stereo from the control panel by gently removing the wires from its rear.

Things You'll Need

  • Set of Allen keys
  • Set of din style release keys
