Sangria is generally associated with Spanish holidays, summer nights and barbeques. Most people will be familiar with the traditional sangria using red wine as a base. Lemon peach sangria is a lighter alternative that can be made using white white instead. Mix a pitcher, pour out a long glass and imagine it's summer whatever the time of year!
- Skill level:
- Moderately Easy
Things you need
- 1 large pitcher
- 1 bottle of white wine
- ¼ cup peach schnapps
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 peaches
- 3 large lemons
- 2 large limes
Slice and pit the peaches, discarding the stone. Also slice the two of the lemons and the limes. Halve the third lemon.
Combine the white wine with the three tablespoons of sugar and the peach schnapps in the pitcher. Squeeze in the juice of the halved lemon. Use the best wine you can afford, Chardonnay or Chablis if possible. Add the other fruit slices, stir well and leave to chill for at least an hour.
Once chilled, pour the sangria into long glasses with plenty of ice. Serve with some olives and manchego cheese for a further Spanish touch.
