Wash
Mix non-detergent soap with a bucket of warm water. Good products to use are Lux or Ivory soap, or even liquid dishwashing liquids like Palmolive. Laundry detergents can damage your cover's protective finish. Never send your canvas boat cover to a dry cleaner as the chemicals can damage it.
Rinse
Use a hose to rinse immediately after washing before the soap has had a chance to dry. You can even rinse your canvas boat cover in your shower.
Dry
Let your canvas boat cover air dry. Never throw it in an electric or gas dryer. Be sure it is completely dry before folding or storing away.
