Dress your salad to impress

Dress up your salad right with a homemade and downright delicious Ranch dressing. Ever glance at the nutritional facts of your favourite dressing at the supermarket? Even though it may taste great, it’s most likely packed full with preservatives and artificial flavourings. But now you can make your own healthier and tastier version of Ranch dressing right at home, perfect for not just salads, but as a vegetable dip, drizzled on pizza or even a chicken marinade.
Chop it up
Mince the garlic. Then, mash it with a fork to form a paste. Top with a pinch of salt. Next, chop the parsley, chives and fresh dill (optional). Add the herbs to the garlic paste.
Measure all the other ingredients and add into the jar: buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream and vinegar (or lemon juice). Season with salt and pepper.
Shake it up
Put the lid on the jar and shake well, making sure all the ingredients are well combined. Taste it and adjust the seasoning and ingredients to taste and consistency desire. If you wish for a creamier dressing, add less liquid (buttermilk and vinegar/lemon juice). If you desire a thinner dressing, add more buttermilk.
Chill the dressing in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. The dressing will last for up to four days in the refrigerator.
