As of 2010, Eaton had been supplying the trucking industry for nearly a century. Among the many things this company offers is the Fuller transmission. The Fuller transmission is computer-controlled to increase fuel efficiency and improve safety.

Achieving Optimal Performance

If your truck is on level ground or lightly loaded, start in second gear rather than first. Use the vehicle tachometer to determine when a shift completes. When shifting to second gear from first, try it just after your truck has started in motion for the smoothest shift between gears. The shift from first to second gear can be accomplished at approximately 1,000rpm even when your vehicle is fully loaded.

Do's and Don'ts

Allow the shift to complete, waiting for the engine speed to decelerate to the proper speed for the next desired gear. Don't slam or jerk the shift lever into gear or coast with the shift lever in the neutral position.

Change the transmission fluid every 1,000 hours where severe dirt conditions exist. During normal highway use, replace transmission lubricant every 50,000 miles.
