Physical issues

Laptops are made to withstand a certain amount of pressure and weight due to their mobility. However, stacking laptops puts a lot of weight on the fragile components, causing anything from cracking the case to breaking the monitor.

Heat Issues

Laptop batteries become incredibly hot when charging. This heat can cause the outer casing to warp and the monitor to break. The heat also causes wear on the internal components, shortening the life of the laptop considerably.

Considerations

Stacking laptops gives the illusion of convenience, but also shortens laptop life by crushing the lower laptops and exposing all of the devices to heat damage. Stacking laptops is an issue of organisation; buy a shelf to save space instead.
