Post office boxes provide a secure place to have your mail sent. You can use it as a permanent address if you are moving, or as business address in multiple cities.

Purchase

You can find a post office box anywhere in the country by logging on to usps.com and searching for an available post office box in your area. Once you find a location and appropriate size, you can simply enter your credit card information and complete the application.

Sizes

Your post office box agreement will depend on the size box you rent. There are five different sizes from which you can choose: Small 1: 3 inches x 5.5 inches, Small 2: 5 inches x 5.5 inches, Medium 3: 11 inches x 5.5 inches, Large 4: 11 inches x 11 inches and Large 5: 22.5 inches x 12 inches. Most post office boxes are 14.75 inches deep.

Additional Fees

Your post office box agreement may include additional fees. You will pay a 60p deposit for every key issued to you, but this fee is returnable. Key replacement or duplication -- after the first two keys -- will cost £3 each. Replacement locks are £9 each.
