The Mercedes-Benz Vito 112 CDi is a panel van produced by German automaker Mercedes Benz. It's primary market is Europe, where it is used extensively as delivery vehicle. London's Public Carriage Office approved the Vito for use as a taxi in 2008.

Drive Train

The Vito is a front-engine, front-wheel drive vehicle. It is powered by a four- or six-cylinder, dual overhead cam (DOHC) diesel engine. Available with either of two engine displacements, 2.1 litres or 3.0 litres, the Vito utilises a seven-speed automatic transmission.

The Vito is a three-door minivan that can comfortably seat up to two passengers. Vitos are configured for cargo delivery. The passenger version is marketed as the Mercedes-Benz Viano.

Safety Features

Safety features on the Vito include an adaptive electronic stability program and anti-lock brakes, acceleration skid control, and disc brakes. A full-size driver air bag comes standard, with the option of adding a passenger air bag. The purchase can add optional window air bags and thorax bags for the vehicle driver and front passenger.
