The pay for a pest control technician varies according to the industry in which he is employed. The Bureau of Labor Statistics ranked the federal executive branch of the government as the highest-paying industry, offering £32,519, and facilities support services as the lowest-paying industry, offering £23,257. Additional areas of employment for pest control techs include amusement parks and arcades, where the average salary was £25,512 as of May 2009 and colleges and universities, which paid an average of £24,004.
In May 2009, the Bureau of Labor Statistics also ranked the top-paying states for pest control workers. Wyoming was the lowest-paying state, offering £25,025, whereas the District of Columbia paid the most, offering £27,508.
