Organizational structures are specific outlines of the positions and management chains of a company and its divisions. Telecommunication structures can be simple or complex, depending on the size of the organisation and whether a company observes this process.


Telecommunications tend to be tall organisations, starting with either a board of directors or a government agency. The organisation has few individuals who make decisions, which allows for a centralised decision-making system. Tall organisations typically create a more-controlled environment.


Tall organizational structures will often have several layers of management, which allows employees to have well-defined positions and supervision. These organisations will also help limit or prohibit ambiguity from the top layers of management.


Companies or government agencies may use a hybrid organizational structure. This allows for the separation of divisions by function or geographic location. While still centralised in nature, further separation allows the company to run functions through defined divisions.
