Identifying a font can be a challenging task. If you don't know where to start with the identification process, you can become frustrated and waste valuable time. Familiarise yourself with different fonts by opening your word processor and scrolling through the various font styles.

Font Selection Box

Copy and paste a document that contains a style of font that you are unfamiliar with into your word processor. Left-click on a word in the passage to identify the font. Look up to the font selection box. The type of font and its size will automatically populate.

Right-click on a document to bring up a menu of items. Left-click on "Font." Click on the font of your choice, its size and other characteristics.

Font Indentification Websites

Visit a font identification website (see Resources) if you have text in a font style that does not show up in your font selection box. Upload your document, and if the font style is found, you will be allowed to purchase that font for your own use.
