International Express Mail Service (EMS) provides postal service, packaging, declaring and insurance among more than 200 countries and areas worldwide. The EMS website offers a tracking option with the verification code and tracking number provided by the shipper.
EMS China offers China Express in an alliance with the Netherlands' TNT Post Group. The service is flexible with its shipment limits of weight and size.
Paid-by-addressee (PBA) service is offered by EMS China. It is designed to have all charges paid by the recipient rather than the sender. As of 2010 it is available in Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Sweden, Germany and Hong Kong.
An EMS tracking number includes 13 characters. The first is a letter, followed by 11 digits and then a final letter. It usually takes about 4 hours after shipping for the tracking number to appear in the EMS system. If the tracking number is not valid, the sender should be contacted.
If a search of the EMS tracking number indicates "attempted delivery," the recipient can request redelivery or opt to pick up the package.
