Wool mattresses function by acting as a natural insulator. Air spaces trap body heat, which, in turn, helps warm air circulate next to the skin.

Wool mattresses are beneficial for babies. Due to the natural crimping of wool fibres, a springy cushion helps naturally cradle and soothe the body.


While wool is naturally hypoallergenic, abrasive chemicals are often used for processing and mothproofing raw wool.
