Makari Skin Care & Its Side Effects

Updated April 17, 2017

Makari de Suisse is a luxury skincare line created specifically for the treatment of hyperpigmention in darker skin colours. Plant extracts are used to achieve even skin tone.

Makari de Suisse skin care offers a complete line of cleansers, scrubs, masks and treatment serums. Supplements are available to increase the effectiveness of Makari skin lightening products.

Makari uses natural ingredients such as bearberry extract, liquorice extract and vitamin C to evenly bleach the skin, instead of chemical lightening agents and hydroquinone, which is thought to be harmful to the skin.

Side Effects

According to the American Academy of Dermatology, some people develop contract dermatitis because of allergy to fragrance, contained in most Makari products. Salicylic acid is also present in some products, which should be avoided if you have an allergy to aspirin. Makari also warns that anyone allergic to sea products should avoid using the products.

Makari claims that visible results can be seen within two weeks to three months of use. Proper maintenance is recommended to preserve the lightening results.

Makari de Suisse is sold in over 50 boutiques and stores world wide, as well as in the store that bears its name in New York City. It can also be purchased online at
