Dermovate cream is a steroid-based medication used to treat skin conditions. It is used to alleviate the symptoms of itchiness, swelling and redness. It is available by prescription only and is a product of GlaxoSmithKline UK.

The active ingredient in Dermovate cream is clobetosol propionate; it falls in the steroid medication category. It can be found in either a 30g or 100g tube.


It is mainly used in skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Dermovate cream helps in the reduction of swelling, itchiness and irritation.

Side effects

Possible side effects include: skin irritation when applying the cream, development of stretch marks, increased hair growth, thinning of the skin and changes in your skin colour.


Don't store above 25ºC. Do not use after the expiry date shown on the packaging; keep out of the reach of children.


Don't use under the following conditions: on children under the age of one; if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in Dermovate cream; to treat fungal infections; viral infections; acne; or blisters caused by an infection.
