The Ask Jeeves Toolbar is an add-on application that can be installed on Firefox and internet Explorer web browsers. The toolbar allows web surfers to search the Ask.com search engine portal from any website at any time. The toolbar is installed at the top of each browser window and requires different uninstall procedures for Windows XP and Windows Vista. Uninstalling the toolbar can be accomplished on both the internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. Windows XP - Firefox Uninstall Directions

Close all currently opened Firefox browser windows by clicking on the red "x" button in the top right corner of each. Click on the "Start" button and then select the "Control Panel" option. Choose the "Add/Remove Programs" icon. Find the "Ask logo" which will be next to the words "Ask Toolbar", and click on "Change/Remove" to uninstall the program. Launch your Firefox browser and the toolbar should be gone.

Wait for the program to successfully uninstall and then launch your Firefox browser to ensure that the toolbar is now deleted.

Close all currently opened internet Explorer windows. Click on the Windows "Start" button and choose "Control Panel". Click on "Add/Remove Programs" and then find the "Ask Logo" with the words "Ask Toolbar" next to the logo. Click on "Change/Remove" and wait for the program to uninstall. Launch internet Explorer; the bar should be gone.

Close any internet Explorer windows that are currently open. Click on the Windows "Start" button and then click on "Control Panel". Choose the icon titled "Programs", and then choose "Uninstall a program". Click on the "Ask Logo" located next to the words "Ask Toolbar". Click on "Uninstall" and then on "Continue". Wait for the uninstall to complete and then launch internet Explorer. The toolbar should be gone.

If you would prefer to simply hide the toolbar, you can open an internet Explorer window and click on "View" at the top of the browser. Choose the "Toolbars" option, followed by "Ask Toolbar", which will hide the toolbar. Follow the same process to unhide the toolbar.

Launch Firefox and then click on the "View" option at the top of the browser, followed by "Toolbars" and then the "Ask Toolbar" option. Repeat this process to unhide the toolbar.
