Other excellent high-alkaline picks are watery, pale green vegetables, such as celery, cabbage and broccoli, which are more effective acid neutralisers in their raw form. (For an excellent alkaline snack, fill fresh celery stalks with a bit of peanut butter and top with raisins.) Eating these veggies will help digestive enzyme functioning while neutralising stomach acid.
Potassium is one of the most highly recommended types of alkaline foods to neutralise stomach acid and aid in digestive functioning. In fact, potassium bicarbonate's neutralising properties have made it a common ingredient in many antacids as well as in baking soda. Excellent high-potassium foods to lower stomach acidity include bananas and baked potatoes without toppings. Or, make a baking soda solution using ¼ teaspoon of baking soda and ½ cup of water and drink regularly to help neutralise stomach acid.
