Pre-made Centerpieces

There is a wide variety of pre-made christening centrepieces available both online and at your local party supply store. These centrepieces can vary from a small faux cake to ceramic statues as well as paper honeycomb decorations. A pre-made centrepiece is often the best solution when time is of the essence. These centrepieces can also be used in conjunction with some of the ideas below to create a more personalised centrepiece for your table.

Treats

Treats are always good things to use for centrepieces, whether your treats are party favours for your guests or a small cake designed to serve those seated at the table. Cookies, cupcakes, and other small dessert pieces can be placed on Lucite or crystal towers in order to bring focus to those pieces.

Flowers and Candles

Flowers and candles are always an elegant way to decorate your table for a christening centrepiece. Simply select a few candles of varying height and place them in the centre of the table with a few flowers around the base of the candles. Or combine a small flower arrangement with a single candle to create an elegant christening centrepiece. Candles and flowers can be used together or they can be used separately as centrepieces.

Personalised Centerpieces

You can personalise any christening centrepiece by adding in a photograph of your baby alone or with members of your family. Consider taking several different 4 by 6-inch snapshots of your baby and placing them in the centre of the table along with candles, flowers or even a copy of the invitation to the christening. You can also use a copy of the invitation itself by standing it beside flowers or a candle in the centre of the table.

Ribbons, Lace and Pearls

Uing unique materials to make your christening centrepieces will cause them to be one-of-a-kind conversation starters. Consider using decorative ribbons along with lace baby garments, such as bonnets and bootees, to create your centrepiece. Spray the lace garment with starch so that it will stand upright on its own and decorate it with ribbons or faux seed pearls. To create a 3-D effect with the ribbon, also spray it with starch so that it will hold shape as you decorate with it. You can also use ribbon that contains floral wire. Faux seed pearls are available at most craft-supply retail stores in a wide variety of soft colours.
